Our Company
Masterpiece Coffee Company is a boutique coffee roaster nestled
in the hills of Marin County California. We’ve been offering
our premium coffee selections throughout the Bay Area since 1994.
Using only the finest Arabica coffee beans available, we roast
only what is ordered daily in small batches to ensure the many
restaurants, café’s, wineries, grocery stores and
mail order customers we serve are receiving the freshest coffee
possible. When you order from Masterpiece Coffee Company you
will be receiving coffee that has been roasted within days!
Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, our customers come
from all over the world to visit the most beautiful areas anywhere,
including the world class wine growing regions of the Napa
and Sonoma valleys. Looking to take a little of San Francisco
home with them, we receive many requests as to where they can
purchase our fresh roasted coffee locally. We’re pleased
to be able to offer our premium coffees to coffee lovers everywhere
through our web-store. And if you want to be creative with
your tastes, try our Build A Blend feature and get the special
mix you can call your own.
Our Coffee Selections
When selecting the types of coffee we will offer each season,
you benefit from the insight and talents of everyone from
Masterpiece, from the master roaster to the delivery driver.
We choose only the finest Arabica Coffee Beans from around
the world and purchase enough to ensure our clients of consistency
in body, aroma and taste. As with wine, new seasons bring
new excitement and enjoyment to this agricultural product.
From the coffee we purchase we roast over twenty varietal,
(single-origin coffees) and from these we create nearly thirty
premium blends.
Our Roasting and Blending Process
We take great pride in our dedication to the roast! All of
our coffees are roasted by hand and in small batches using
a 25 pound San Franciscan drum roaster. We do not employ computers
in our roasting process. Although computers help maintain a
consistent roast color, we utilize a traditional hand roasting
style because of the absolute control we have during the roast.
Each roast is carefully monitored and logged to ensure consistency
from roast to roast.
All blending is completed after roasting in order to bring
out the true complexities of each coffee in both taste and
appearance. Coffee is very different from region to region
and farm to farm, therefore each coffee reacts differently
to the roasting process. Blending prior to roasting doesn’t
allow for the true characteristics of a coffee to be realized.
Pay close attention to our Premium Blends and you can recognize
the different roast colors of each coffee! Together our Blends
are truly greater than the sum of their parts!
Our Packaging Process
Packaging is an extremely important component in keeping coffee
fresh! After the coffee has been roasted and cooled down,
it is immediately packaged by hand for delivery. This includes
local deliveries as well as mail-order. All of our coffee
is packaged using one-way valves where only air can escape.
This guarantees your coffee is protected from the unwanted
elements of air and light! Because we are committed to producing
and delivering the freshest coffee available, we feel it
only makes sense that we use premium packaging to protect
our product.
